wenn ich so die iphone-testberichte aus amiland lese, regt sich doch fast ein bisschen nationalstolz in meiner brust:

While this year’s activation fiasco isn’t nearly as bad as last year’s nightmare, it’s still pretty bad considering that most of the iPhone 3G S orders were done via pre-order this time around. So AT&T knew what it was getting into ahead of time — and still couldn’t handle it. Then of course there’s the hilarious fact that MMS is not ready to go in the United States despite being launched on the device in 20+ other countries. And the same is true for tethering. at&t hats ja in usa mit dem 3gs-start wieder mal recht versaut:
- aktivierungsprobleme von mehren tagen.
- mms wird erst ab sommer unterstützt.
- upgrade im hsdpa netz vom 3.6 auf 7.2 megabit/s kommt erst ende jahr.
- kein tethering.
in der schweiz ist da (fast) alles besser:
- aktivierungsprobleme = nix bekannt.
- mms = läuft bei swisscom & orange.
- hsdpa = läuft bei swisscom mit 7.2 – in gebieten wie davos gar mit 14.4 megabit/s (bei orange leider nur 3.6).
- tethering = funzt bei orange gut (swisscom blockt hier leider noch).
zusammen mit der viel besseren abdeckung hierzulande als bei at&t in den usa bin ich fast froh, dass schweizer hohe kommunikationskosten berappen müssen. aber nur fast!

mangels “kein wlan im moment” konnte ich das aber noch nicht austesten (für sunrise…)

ich wollte auf deinen tweet “# @frischkopp fuck, und qik gibts noch immer nicht fürs iphone #android” noch etwas antworten, habe aber keinen twitter account, darum dachte ich, mache ich das halt einfach bei einem iPhone-relevanten blogeintrag:
qik gibts schon fürs iPhone, aber es ist nur für “jailbroken” geräte erhätlich (via cydia) und funktioniert erstaunlich gut (auch ohne wlan).

danke für den tip, mein 1st-gen.-iphone habe ich auch noch gehackt…. 3gs ist aber original. ich wart mal auf die app. kommt sicher bald, jetzt da apple video unterstützt.
